How the job runs
Same process on every job — you always know what happens next.
Assess the damage
For repairs, we find the cause first — a patched ceiling under a leaking pipe is money thrown away.
Hang & tape
Screws on pattern, joints staggered, three coats of compound feathered wide.
Sand & prime-check
We sand, prime and check under a raking light before calling it paint-ready. Most repairs: 1–3 days.
Typical Massachusetts pricing: drywall repairs $350–$1,200 depending on size and access; new drywall $2.50–$4.50/sq ft hung, taped and sanded; skim coating $3–$5/sq ft. Small repairs are often same-week. Free estimate.
Questions homeowners
ask us
Can you match my old plaster walls?
Yes — in pre-war Boston homes we either skim-coat to match the plaster's slight texture or convert to drywall with the trim details preserved. We'll recommend based on the room.
How soon can I paint after drywall work?
Compound needs 24 hours per coat to dry, so a typical repair is paint-ready in 2–3 days. We prime it so your painter (or we) can go straight to color.
My ceiling has a water stain — can you just paint over it?
No — stains bleed through paint and hidden moisture grows mold. We check the leak is fixed, cut out compromised board, and stain-block before repainting.
