Carpentry
Trim is where a renovation reads as craftsmanship or as rushed. Coped inside corners, mitered returns, caulk lines you don't notice — that's the standard.

How the job runs
Same process on every job — you always know what happens next.
Profile & scale
We match trim scale to your ceiling height and home's era — 5¼" base in a 1920s colonial reads right; 3¼" doesn't.
Cut & fit
Coped corners (not mitered inside corners that open with the seasons), scribed to wavy old walls.
Fill, caulk, ready for paint
Nail holes filled, joints caulked, sanded — delivered paint-ready or painted by us.
Typical installed pricing in Massachusetts: baseboard and casing $8–$14 per linear foot; crown molding $10–$18/lf; wainscoting $25–$45/lf; solid interior doors $450–$800 each installed. Built-ins quoted per design. Free estimate.
Questions homeowners
ask us
Why do my trim corners keep cracking open?
Mitered inside corners open as wood moves with New England humidity swings. We cope inside corners — one piece cut to the other's profile — so seasonal movement doesn't show.
Can you match the original trim in my old house?
Usually. We take a profile sample to a millwork shop, or combine stock profiles to match. Small runs of custom knives are affordable for whole-room jobs.
MDF or wood for painted trim?
MDF for straight runs in dry rooms — flatter, cheaper, paints beautifully. Wood for baths, kitchens and anywhere it might get wet. We mix both strategically.
